Election Petition: Tsikata To Cross-Examine Jean Mensa Today

Lead Counsel for the petitioner, in the ongoing 2020 elections petition, Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata is expected to begin his cross-examination of the Chairperson for the first respondent, Jean Mensah later today.

It is anticipated, that because the cross-examination of Mr Asiedu Nketia ended yesterday, the Lawyer for the Electoral Commission may begin to cross-examination his witness today and have Mr Tsatsu Tsikata take over from him.

This will happen after the cross examination of the second witness of the petitioner, Dr Michael Kpessah Whyte. The former Executive Director of the National Service Scheme is expected to mount the witness box earlier today.

It is however being rumoured, that unlike Mr Asiedu Nketia, he may witness a short cross examination by counsel for the respondents, a situation which might lead to the cross examination of the EC Chairperson.

Reminiscence of the 2012 elections petition, many social media users have expressed their interest in watching the cross examination of Mrs Jean Mensah by Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata.

Former President John Dramani Mahama has petitioned the Supreme Court, challenging the credibility of the 2020 general elections and the declaration of results made by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission.
