NDC Will Allow Other Candidates Contest Mahama For Flagbearer Role – Asiedu Nketia
General Secretary for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia says the party will not stop former flagbearer aspirants and new candidates from contesting John Dramani Mahama for the flagbearership in the 2024 polls.
Speaking on Class FM Monday, he noted that nothing within the party’s constitution disqualifies Mr Mahama from contesting again and therefore he’ll be allowed to lead the party if the structures permit.
“He was one of the people who contested the presidential primaries and won and proceeded to lead the party in the general election and the party claims he did not lose. So, if he decides to come back, there’s nothing within the party that disqualifies him”, Mr Asiedu Nketia said.
“The party does not impose candidates or the leadership of the party does not impose candidates”, he said, adding: “We allow the structures to make their decisions and we implement the decisions”.

What Are You Contributing To Ghana’s Development? – Gabby To Akufo-Addo Gov’t Critics
Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has asked critics of the ruling government what they’re also doing to contribute to nation building.
According to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, before anyone comes out to bastardize the government on what is going wrong with Ghana, that person must first ask himself the role he’s also playing to make Ghana better.
“Before you do what we do best, which is to use your social media to once again highlight what is wrong with Ghana, ask yourself, “what am I doing this week as a positive add on to nation building?”, he shared on Facebook.

NDC Supporters Hailing Sammy Gyamfi Over Facebook Post Attacks On Bagbin, Haruna – Asiedu Nketia
General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia says Communications Director of the party, Sammy Gyamfi spoke the mind of the rank and file of the party regarding his Facebook post following approval of nominees by Parliament.
Sammy Gyamfi expressed his disappointment in the NDC leadership in Parliament after the approved some nominees of President Akufo-Addo.
Speaking on Joy News, Asiedu Nketia noted that Sammy Gyamfi could have couched his message differently however, he’s been hailed by the rank and file of the party for his comment.
“Leadership is at levels and if it were somebody at the national executive who has served at Parliament before and is very conversant about the procedures and processes in Parliament maybe the statement would have been couched differently”.
“So, the fact that Sammy Gyamfi ventilated the voice of the rank-and-file of the party is not a problem; the problem was how the statement was couched. The rank-and-file are hailing Sammy Gyamfi but the problem is that some of us who know about the workings and rules of Parliament we felt that part of the statement was not in good taste.”
