A Fulani man who apparently out of kind gesture, had sought to guarantee for his Gonja friend to register, had the shock of his life when the said Gonja friend decided to walk away from the exercise because his Fulani friend had claimed that they were relatives.

The Fulani man who had a Ghana Card because he was born and bred in Damongo Constituency in Ghana decided to guarantee for his Gonja friend only for it to turn dramatic as his Gonja friend walked away from the exercise because he said they were relatives.

Narrating the incident,  the Fulani man and the Gonja man had gone to the registration centre for the Gonja man to register, only for the officer to ask the relationship between the two of which the Fulani man quickly responded that, the Gonja man was the firstborn of his Aunty.

As if that was not enough, he went ahead to detail the family lineage which got the Gonja man angry of which he immediately abandoned the process saying he coud not  turn into a Fulani just because of a voter identification card and shockingly walked away.

The Electoral Officials as much as they tried could not persuade the Gonja man to rescind his decision from registering.

Later, the Gonja man explained that, he was a royal in the Gonja land and as suxh allowing himself to be called a Fulani for a voters registeration could go against his prospect of being a chief in the Gonja land in the future. He therefore thought it necessary not to register if his Fulani friend could not introduce him as a friend but rather a relative.
