Do You Think We Are Joking Here? – Judge Asks Akuapem Poloo In Court

The Accra Circuit Court was compelled to adjourn the case in which Rosemond Brown, aka Akuapem Poloo, is standing trial for posting a nude photo of herself and her 7-year-old son on social media. 

This is the third time the case has been adjourned since it began in November, last year.

This time, it was due to the absence of Rosemond Brown’s lawyer, Philip Kofi Bekoe.

There was a letter from the accused person’s lawyer, requesting a long adjournment.

But the Circuit Court judge Christiana Cann was unhappy with the development and derailment of the case which started in November last year.

“I have here a letter from her lawyer. I cannot adjourn the case to May 4, 2021. Do you think we are joking here? I will give you up to April 6, 2021.

“We will conduct the Case Management Conference (CMC) on the said day. We don’t have any bargaining in our law,” the infuriated judge thundered as Akuapem Poloo looked on remorsefully.

Meanwhile, the video vixen has pleaded not guilty to charges including publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence, namely conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy, and engaging in domestic violence namely conduct that in any way detracts or is likely to detract another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.

On June 30, 2020, the actress posted a picture of herself and her son on his seventh birthday. Rosemond was captured naked kneeling before her son who was only seen in a panty.

While many criticized the actress over the photo, others jumped to her defence.

The actress later rendered an apology.

At the last sitting, her lawyer Philip Kofi Bekoe pleaded with the court to admit her to bail on grounds that she is a well-known person.

He also said his client has people of substance who are willing to stand as sureties provided she is granted bail. The prosecution did not oppose the bail application.

She was granted bail in the sum of GH₵100,000 with four sureties, two to be justified.

The two sureties have been ordered to provide proof of ownership of any landed property worth the bail sum.
