Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has taken a veil dig at the former president John Dramani Mahama insisting infrastructure in an age of digitisation has gone beyond mere bricks and mortar.

“I would also want to mention that infrastructure today, in this world of digitisation, is no longer just brick and mortar. We are talking about soft infrastructure and we are talking about digital infrastructure,” Bawumia said during a townhall meeting on August 18.

According to him, building a nation has gone beyond physical projects and therefore the Akufo Addo led government have digitised the economy to make life simple for Ghanaians.

“The world is changing and digitisation has come and we have for the last three-and-a-half years been embarking on major process of digitising this country and putting in place critical, soft digital infrastructure which is going to transform this country.”

The townhall meeting was to highlight government’s infrastructural achievements over the last 3 and half years in power.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) had chided government of doing little to put up or continue inherited infrastructures from the erstwhile government despite the country’s ballooning debt stock.
