Be Bold And Reject The Resignation of Late MP’s Widow – IGP Urged

Inspector General of Police, James Oppong-Boanuh has been urged to boldly turn down the resignation request tended in by the widow of the late Ekow Hayford, Mrs Ophelia Hayford.

According to Michael Ebo Amoah, a policy analyst and development expert, Constitutional Instrument, C.I. 76, Regulation 113, says before an officer resigns from the Police Service, one must give 30 days notice.

However, Mrs Hayford has failed to do that and therefore the IGP must use her as a test case to enforce the law.

Mr Amoah however, noted that the IGP will not likely do that because he is influenced by the ruling government, particularly, when he was appointed by them.

Mrs Hayford was nominated by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to replace her late husband as Parliamentary candidate for the Mfantseman constituency.
