Spokesperson and Economic Advisor to the Vice President, Dr Gideon Baako has taken on the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their recent criticism of the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia days ago held a lecture at the Ashesi University to delineate an array of digital policies being implemented by the government to drastically reduce the inefficiencies and corruption in public services delivery; enhance domestic revenue mobilisation; improve efficiency in the health sector; provide financial inclusion and a cash-lite economy among other things.

The NDC has however been criticising him wondering why he has abandoned economics to pursue digitalization.

The National Communications Officer of the party, Sammy Gyamfi even questioned how Dr Bawumia’s lectures on digitisation will reducing the ballooning fuel prices and other amenities.

In response on Okay FM, Gideon Boako said the senses of the NDC are clouded with myopic political interests which sees no good.

“I find it very funny when the NDC and the likes of Hon. Adongo goes around to say that this digitization does not put money into the pockets of the ordinary Ghanaian. It’s because they have clouded their senses with their myopic political interest. The NPP government has through the improvement of the economy provided more jobs and also creating avenues for more jobs to be created.”

“Ghana’s economy, through the ingenuity of the Vice President, is gradually taking shape which I believe will help improve the lives of the ordinary Ghanaian,” he stated.
