Deputy Majority leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin has revealed that Speaker Alban Bagbin refused to mediate the impasse which arose from the 2022 budget because of fear of insults by CEO of Loud silence Media, Kevin Taylor.

Speaking on News File on Joy News, Afenyo explained that his side had reached out to the Speaker to resolve the impasse but Mr. Bagbin was unwilling to.

According to Honorable Afenyo, the Speaker had initially expressed willingness to resolve the impasse between the two caucuses but withdrew midway.

Mr. Afenyo claimed that the Speaker himself said some members of the NDC Caucus had leaked information to Kevin Taylor that he (Bagbin) was trying to assist the NPP caucus to get the budget passed.

Mr. Afenyo continued that, Mr. Bagbin said the next minute, Kevin Taylor was raining insults on him on Social Media and inviting NDC Supporters to do same.

The Right Honorable Speaker, therefore, decided not to attempt to resolve the impasse in order to safeguard his reputation.

Meanwhile, MP for Ningo Prampram, Sam George, also on the same show, refuted Mr. Afenyo’s claims.

Sam George insisted that no member of the NDC Caucus had leaked any information to Kevin Taylor or any other person.
