Bagbin Election: Alan Cash Boys “Show Akufo-Addo Pepper” – Bawumia Should Be Careful Of ‘Snakes’ From Within

In an election which the NDC was given no chance, considering Ghana’s extreme partisanship, lady luck managed to smile on the opposition.

Alban Bagbin, the NDC minority’s nomination for Speaker of Parliament has won the election against the NPP and President Akufo-Addo’s choice.

As shocking and interesting as it may sound, this is a clear slap in the face by internal opposition within the NPP who probably sought to remind the Party that they still are around.

With 137 seats plus the Support of an Independent Candidate, the NPP’S candidate, Prof. Aaron Mike Ocquaye was expected to be elected as speaker without any issues.

Alas, internal opposition had other ideas. As people begin to wonder who might have stabbed the NPP in the back, my suspicion cannot be more clearer.

My guess is that an Alan Kyerematen supporter who probably is not happy with the indirect Support the Party hierarchy purports to be offering Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia to take over after President Akufo-Addo, might have decided to show the Party small pepper.

I may be wrong but this is a clear warning to Dr Bawumia that there may be snakes hidden in the grass of his own party.

If nothing at all, the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama’s episode is still in our memory.
