Avoid Examination Malpractices – Napo Warns BECE Candidates

Published

Education Minister Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh has encouraged the over 500,000 final-year Junior High School students sitting the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which begins today, Monday, 14 September 2020 to be confident as “success shall be theirs”.

Dr Opoku Prempeh, however, advised the candidates to avoid any temptation of examination malpractices.

He wrote,

This week, 531,674 candidates will be writing the Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE), the terminal examinations for Junior High Schools (JHS).
Thanks to President Akufo-Addo’s vision of a Free Senior High School policy, every candidate who is successful at the BECE and qualifies to be placed in any of our public senior high schools is assured of admission, irrespective of their family’s financial circumstances.
On behalf of the Ministry of Education, I wish every candidate the very best in the examination. I am confident that they have worked hard with the support of their teachers, especially following their recall to school after the outbreak of Covid-19 forced the closure of our schools in March this year.
I urge them to be confident and avoid the temptation of examination malpractices, and with God on their side, success shall be theirs”.
