Arise Ghana Demo: NDC Is Just Desperate For Power- Lawyer Yaw Buaben Asamoa

The Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoa, has said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its executives are just desperate for power.

According to him, the opposition NDC is doing everything just to get power and destroy the economy.

Speaking to Kwaku Dawuro on Movement In The Morning Show on the aftermath of the 2- day Arise Ghana demonstration, the former Adenta MP said, “like a drowning person who will clutch onto anything he chances to find in the hope of staying afloat to avoid sinking, so is the position of the NDC members at the moment. They have hatched plots and continue to plan evil ways to get the NPP out of government; they care less if their plots resulted in the death of many innocent Ghanaian citizens”.

He noted that, “I’m happy we have seen the kind of people the NDC are. Are these the people we want to hand over a peaceful and stable country like Ghana to?”, he asked.

In furtherance he said the NDC is just desperate for power and will want to do everything to ensure the country becomes ungovernable, hence the violence and riot at the demonstration and not because of the economic hardship they claimed.

He stressed that the government has admitted on several counts that the country’s economy is not stable but cannot be blamed for it because it’s a challenge across the world due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the effect of the Ukraine-Russia war.

“However, we are a listening government that pays critical attention to criticism, we pay heed to advice because we are serving the people,” he added.
