Private legal practitioner, Akoto Ampaw says it is ridiculous for anybody to say that he has been paid to fight for LGBTQ+ rights in Ghana.

Mr Ampaw has come under massive criticism for opposing the anti-gay bill.

One of his critics include the lawmaker for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George who believes he has been paid monies to oppose the bill.

Speaking on GTV, however, Akoto Ampaw insisted that he is a man of principle and he cannot be bought with money.

“Everybody who really knows me knows that I’m not a pimp. I don’t take money from other people to carry out other people’s agenda. I fight for principle…It is ridiculous for people to be suggesting that we have gone and collected money in order to promote this fight,” he said.
