Joshua Amidu Akamba, the National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is impressed by President Akufo-intention Addo’s to follow in the footsteps of former President John Dramani Mahama and embark on a working tour.
He claims that former President Mahama’s thank-you tour inspired the president to embark on a tour to inspect work being done by the several ministries under his supervision.
“I expected President Akufo-Addo to thank former President Mahama for pointing him in the right direction and taking him on a tour. When the president began his thank-you tour, he stole a page from ex-President Mahama. We had already begun touring the country and are now heading to the Eastern region because there are still a few spots on his (Mahama’s) thank you trip that we have yet to see,” he explained.
“President Akufo-Addo is on a working tour because we started our tour,” Joshua Akamba stated in an interview with Happy98.9FM’s Don Kwabena Prah on the Epa Hoa Daben political talk show. President Akufo-Addo began his thank-you tour before former President Mahama. After winning an election, former President Mahama decided to express gratitude to Ghana’s chiefs and people. Mahama’s campaign was one-of-a-kind and unlike any other. We even arranged virtual meetings to express our gratitude to people in the diaspora. He expressed gratitude to the Ghanaian people.”
On Tuesday, August 17, 2022, former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama began a tour to Ghana’s sixteen administrative areas to thank Ghanaians for their support and votes in the December 2020 elections.
President Mahama will meet with Chiefs and Queen mothers, as well as religious and opinion leaders, address regional and constituency executives and supporters of the NDC, and interact with the media as part of his trips.
