‘Akufo-Addo Is Begging To Be Overthrown’ – Barker-Vormawor Fingers President Over Captain Smart Arrest

One of the convenors for the #Fix The Country Movement, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has said that President Akufo-Addo is begging to be overthrown and does not deserve to finish his term as President.

Oliver made this remark after it emerged that Onua FM Presenter, Captain Smart had been picked up by operatives from the National Investigative Bureau.

In a Facebook post after the news broke of Captain Smart’s arrest, Oliver posted on his Facebook wall, “Captain Smart arrested violently by National Security over broadcast pointing the finger at the President for his involvement in and indulgence of Galamsey. This short man is just begging to be overthrown at this point!”

Oliver later clarified that he does not seek for the President to be removed by a coup d’etat, even though he wishes for him not to complete his term of office.

According to him, he wishes for the President to be forced to resign as a result of a series of demonstrations or to be impeached by Parliament.

He wrote, “Because this issue keeps coming up every now and then, I want to be as clear as possible. I have no desire for Akufo-Addo to be kicked out through a coup d’etat! That will be ending our makeshift democracy. He is not worth the price. But he doesn’t deserve to end his term too. So What I want is for him to either be forced to resign through street protests and agitations; or impeached by Parliament. These are things that affirm our democracy not destroy it. Democracy is important to me! And it will be a huge coup to force him out of office that way!”
