Akuapem Poloo Takes Covid Test; Set To Start Jail Term At Ankaful On Monday If Negative

Jailed socialite, Akuapem Poloo will serve her 90-day jail term at the Ankaful Prisons in Cape Coast.

Poloo, after her sentencing took a Covid-19 test on Friday with the result expected to be ready on Monday.

Speaking to Lantam Papanko on Starr Today, on Starr FM on Friday, her lawyer Andrews Kudzo Vortia said his client would be taken to the Ankaful Prisons if the test is negative.

Meanwhile he has also served notice he is going to file an appeal against the sentencing on Monday.

Akuapem Poloo was on Wednesday April 14 convicted on her own plea by the Circuit Court in Accra after pleading guilty to three charges, thus the publication of obscene materials, engaging in domestic violence, namely conduct that in any way undermines another person’s privacy or integrity and engaging in domestic violence that in any way detracts or is likely to detract from another person’s dignity and worth as a human being.

She was sentenced to 90 days on each count but the court said, the sentence must run concurrently, meaning she will only serve a 90-day jail term which is three months.
