A Koforidua High Court (Court Room 3) has dismissed a suit filed against two Akropong Constituency impending election aspirants.

Describing the suit as ‘unmeritorious’, His Lordship Justice Senyo Amedahie who presided over the case found no merit in the claims against the defendants.

According to a report by starrfm, the plaintiff, Mr. Adum Acheampong, a former NPP Constituency Chairman of Akropong Constituency was for the second time absent in court when the case was called together with his Counsel.

Although a representative of the plaintiff attempted seeking audience with the judge with the explanation that the plaintiff was a bit under the weather but the court rejected the plea for another adjournment.

The suit challenged the eligibility of Julius Akuffo and Linda Dankwa to contest for any position in the Constituency on the ticket of the NPP.

The defendants, NPP, Julius Akuffo Djan and Linda Darkwa who were represented by Lawyer Gary Nimako Marfo were however present in court.

In a related development as per the report, an injunction placed on the Akropong North Constituency elections has been dismissed by the Koforidua High Court (room 4).

The injunction was filed by two petitioners, Emelia Awuku of Larteh Akaade Number One and Godfred Ampadu of Daakye Akropong.

Gary Nimako Esq. counsel for the defendants, prayed the court to properly dismiss the case for the sake of clarity and directions.

His Lordship Nana Yaw Gyamfi Frimpong accordingly dismissed the injunction suit paving a way for the conduct of the long awaited Akropong Constituency NPP elections.
