African Champions, Senegal Floored By Netherlands In First Group Game

Netherlands has taken the point on Monday in their encounter with Senegal.

Louis van Gaal’s side got the job done against the African champions who had fairly good chances but failed to secure a goal.

Cody Gakpo opened the scoring in the 84th minute with a brave header at the end of a brilliantly timed run.

On as a substitute, Davy Klaassen put the game beyond doubt deep in injury time by capitalising on an error from Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

The Dutch side converted their chances late, but a goal from Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen got the job done after the 8 minutes injury time.
