Afenyo Markin Explains Why NPP MPs Went To Parliament At 4am; Cites Punctuality
Member of Parliament for the Efutu Constituency, Alexander Kwamina Afenyo-Markin, has given justification for the unusual early arrival of Members of Parliament of the NPP caucus to Parliament on Friday.
Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Caucus in Parliament surprisingly showed up as early as 4am in Parliament today.
Many have suggested they were there to occupy the Majority seat before their opponents NDC arrived.
However, speaking to Asaase Radio, Afenyo Markin explained that the MPs, who are mostly newbies in the house came early to avoid lateness.
I don’t see any controversy arising out of who is sitting where and all that. My understanding is that we have been urged to be punctual, and our first-timers have resolved to seeing to punctuality and ensuring that they take their parliamentary work seriously.”
“Today is our first day of regular sitting and I am pretty sure as you may be aware our colleagues have gotten to the chamber ahead of time to acclimatize themselves, to read their papers, fraternize and prepare for today’s activities and I should think that is in order.”

NPP Have Their 2024 Fate Tied To Jinapor’s Appointment – Small Scale Miners
The Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners (GNASSM) have opined that the ruling New Patriotic Party have their successes in the 2024 polls tied to the performance of Minister of Lands and Natural Resources designate, Samuel Abu Jinapor.
Speaking to Sefa Danquah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the GNASSM, Ben Annan, indicated that the Minister will have to fight against members of his own party if he seeks to win the war against galamsey.
“Samuel Jinapor is a young man and he is now building his political career. The platform he has been given will decide his future in politics. Again the position he has been given will decide if NPP will go into opposition or maintain their position. Either you take it or you leave it,” he was quoted by happyfmonline.
“We are ready to work with every Government but if you don’t listen to us, four years will come. This year’s election we took it that the president was not aware of certain things. But did you see the results? We can never fight with the Government but all we can say is that there Is always that four years to decide”, he added.
