Adwoa Safo May Escape Punishment If She Gives Good Excuse for Staying Out of Parliament – Majority Leader

Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu, the Majority Leader has said the embattled Dome-Kwabenya lawmaker, Sarah Adwoa Safo may be pardoned from abandoning her duties as a Parliamentarian if she gives a reasonable excuse upon her return.

Adwoa Safo has been out of the country for weeks following government claims that she had been on leave.

Although the ‘supposed’ leave is over, the lawmaker has refused to return to her duties in Parliament despite several calls.

Speaking on the issue, the Majority leader said the Dome MP may return to the country this week, however, he cannot say if she’ll face any sanctions.

According to him only the privileges committee of Parliament can determine her fate therefore, upon her return she’ll have to explain her long absence; noting that her punishment will be based on the excuse she gives to the committee.
